FAQ’s

 

Do I need to be fit to start?
Absolutely not. We’re a gym, it’s our job to get you fit. All you need do is commit to regular attendance and we will do the rest for you.

What if I don’t have any gym experience?
That’s not a problem at all. All our classes are run by experienced coaches who take pride in being able to offer variety of modifications to suit the individual needs of each member. We have our weekly skills workshop on Thursdays which allows even more time to get you up to speed. There is also Personal Training available if needed.

Will I get “bulky” lifting weights?
As a general rule, it is quite difficult for women to add bulk due to our lack of testosterone. Strength training for women is an important factor for bone health especially as we get older and our hormone profile changes. Adding Strength training into your weekly routine can help to improve metabolism as well as your functional strength. Our program is written by our Head Coach Chelsea to specifically cater for the women of Marquise.

Do I need to book into classes?
Yes, we use Zen Planner as our software of choice. Once you begin your membership we will set up your profile and you will have access to our members app. There you can  reserve your spot in the classes of your choice. First in best dressed.

Do you offer Personal Training sessions?
We sure do. Our PT sessions are $50/ session. This is a great option if you are looking for extra coaching on specific skills or if you are just starting out. PT sessions can get you ready to join into the group classes if you are new to the gym world. Book your sessions by emailing themarquisemovement@outlook.com

Do you have shower facilities?
Yes we do. We have 2 bathrooms and 1 shower. Facilities available before and after each class for our members to use.

How do I pay my membership?
Our memberships are payable by direct debit using a system called ezidebit. We will set up your account once you become a member. You can pay your membership weekly, fortnightly or monthly. We are flexible to you. We have NO LOCK IN CONTRACTS. You can hold your membership for up to 1 month. We want you to actually use your gym membership!!!

Do you do meal planning and nutritional coaching?
Our coaches area of expertise is coaching. We believe that nutrition plays a huge role in performance and achieving body composition goals but that is not our specialty. That is why we outsource our Nutrition support to Tyson at Pinnacle Performance + Nutrition.

In conjunction with Tyson we run 8 week Nutrition Programs twice/ year to help our members not only achieve their goals but educate them on what a balanced diet looks like. We run our nutrition Programs around February + September each year.

 

Do you have Mum’s + Bub’s Classes?

We believe that a woman’s health after having a baby is of the utmost importance. That is why we don’t just have a class that allows babies to be in the gym…We offer much more than that. We run The Marquise Mums 8 week Program as a seperate offering to our group training. This program is designed by a mum for mums with consultation with Kirrily at Physiozest who specialises in Womens’ Heath.
